Fall Schedule Begins Sunday, 9/18

The fall sailing schedule begins on Sunday, Sept. 18. Please check online at http://www.wsdot.com/Ferries/Schedule/ or pick up a purple schedule, no. 242, at the terminals or on the vessels.

The peak season surcharge is in effect through Sept. 30.


Doe Bay Fest this weekend

WSF released the following bulletin about increased traffic this weekend.

The annual Doe Bay Fest on Orcas Island will bring extra traffic to the Anacortes/San Juan Islands route Thursday, 8/4 through Sunday, 8/7. To help accommodate additional traffic, there will be an extra 8:50 p.m. sailing from Anacortes to Orcas Island on 8/4 and 8/5. On Sunday, 8/7, there will be an extra 10:30 p.m. sailing from Orcas. Customers should plan to arrive 45-60 minutes in advance of all Anacortes and Orcas Island departures. Reservations and a limited number of drive-up spaces are available for all sailings.

Summer schedule and reservations

Here comes the busy time of year. The following bulletin was just sent out by WSF.

The summer schedule for all routes is now available online. Printed schedules will be available next month.

Reservations for summer travel are also available on the Anacortes/San Juan Islands, Anacortes/Sidney, BC, and Port Townsend/Coupeville routes. On the Anacortes/San Juan Islands route, WSF releases 30% of all reservable space two months prior to the schedule start date; all reservable tall space is also released during this time period. An additional 30% of reservable space is released at 7:00 a.m. two weeks before each sailing date, and a final 30% is released two days before each sailing date.

Spring schedule begins March 20, 2016

The spring schedule begins tomorrow, Here’s the bulletin from WSF:

The spring sailing schedule begins this Sunday, March 20 and runs through June 11. The Anacortes/Sidney, B.C. route reopens with one round-trip per day. On the Anacortes/San Juan Island route, customers will see the return of weekend inter-island service and additional weekday sailings. Please check the schedule online http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/pdf/2016Spring or pick up a green schedule at the terminal or on the vessels.

Winter schedule begins Sunday

Don’t miss the boat during your holiday travel. The Winter schedule kicks in on Sunday when lots of folks are traveling to or from the islands, so be sure to check the new schedule before making plans. Here’s the bulletin from WSF:

Washington State Ferries’ winter schedule begins this Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015 and runs through March 19, 2016. Service out of Anacortes to Sidney, B.C. will be suspended for the winter. The Anacortes/San Juan Island routes will operate three vessels on weekends (no dedicated inter-island vessel) with four vessels in service on weekdays. Please check the schedule online or pick up a blue schedule, #239, at the terminal or on the vessels.

Also, galley service is suspended on all sailings until the Spring schedule commences. Food is available in Anacortes as the Cheesecake Cafe (7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. except Fridays when they are open until 9 p.m.). There are vending machines on the boats.

Fall schedule goes into effect Sunday, 9/20/15

In case you don’t receive bulletins from WSF, the following notice about the fall schedule was sent out last night.

Beginning Sunday, Sept. 20, the fall sailing schedule goes into effect. In keeping with previous fall schedules, drivers and passengers should note the San Juan Islands will be served by four vessels with one daily round-trip to Sidney, BC via Friday Harbor.  Drivers can make reservations online at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/reservations or by calling 1-888-808-7977 (WA & BC) or 206-464-6400(Seattle) to speak with an Information Agent. Please check the online schedule or pick up a purple schedule, no. 238, at the terminals or on the vessels.

Summer schedule beginning

Summer schedule goes into effect this weekend, on Sunday. Here’s a reminder from WSF.

The summer 2015 sailing schedule begins Sunday, June 14. The Anacortes/San Juan Islands route will have an additional vessel, and better connections to Anacortes and Friday Harbor during commute hours.

The Anacortes/Sidney, B.C. route will have two daily trips all summer long instead of one.
We recommend making vehicle reservations in advance. WSF releases reservations two weeks before, and then two days before each sailing departs. Reservations are available westbound from Anacortes to Friday Harbor, Lopez, Shaw and Orcas. Eastbound reservations to Anacortes are available from Friday Harbor and Orcas Island.
